On this day (April 5) 30 years ago, the Wedding Peach anime premiered on Japanese television!

I had hoped to put together a bigger update to celebrate this milestone, but life had other plans. That said, I’m excited to share a handful of new additions to the gallery:

  • 2 VHS scans from the Wedding Peach DX rental tapes featuring rare art by Ichiishi Sayuri in high resolution.
  • 3 pamphlet scans from the Summer 1995 issue of Game Box, featuring a special spotlight on the Wedding Peach Super Famicom game.
  • 4 Ciao furoku scans from August 1995, including tarot cards and artwork from their companion fortune-telling book.

Please enjoy these new new images, and stay tuned — more anniversary content is on the way in the months ahead!

The Wedding Apple media mix project is well and truly underway with an Official YouTube channel opening today featuring short messages from the central cast.

While the project’s official X/Twitter account announced three new vocal talents have come on board. They are:

  • Bezai: Tomatsu Haruka
  • Kuroiwa Yuuto: Ono Kensho
  • Narration: Kotobuki Minako

Seigura covers the casting in a little more detail here. Character name romanizations above are not official.

Additionally, the official Wedding Apple website has been updated with a new pink background, a more intuative menu, some background images from the TapNovel, and a link to the YouTube page (per above). Interestingly the link to the series’ TapNovel page now sits under the sub heading of “Media.” Could more media types be on their way? I guess we’ll have to wait and see!

I am currently working on another project and dealing with some other issues that have arisen, but I am hoping to have an update shortly for the 30th anniversary of the Wedding Peach anime series. So please stop by again soon.

The official Wedding Apple X/Twitter account formerly announced the voice cast for the the series’ six Akujin characters. Please note that the romanizations are tentative as currently the series does not have any official romanizations for character names, so these may well change in the future. The new cast and their characters are as follows:

Beamon: Umehara Yuuichirou
Darbrack: Hikasa Yoko
Hody: Maeno Tomoaki
Juro: Tachibana Shinnosuke
Evida: Toyonaga Toshiyuki
Buklok: Hatanaka Tasuku

To celebrate this casting news the account will be giving away 6 autographs (one by each seiyuu) to lucky draw winners. To enter, people need to follow the account on X/Twitter and quote/repost the designated posts with a commented before 11:59pm on Friday the 28th of February. Winners will be contacted by DM.

While I (personally) have no interest in utilising that particular site for social media purposes, it is nice to see more cast announcements for Wedding Apple. Here’s hoping we get even more news about the series beyond the voice chapters soon!

  • 6 new images added to gallery

I’ve finally opened to the Newtype magazine section of the Anime Gallery with 3 brand new Wedding Peach scans from June 1995. I also decided to challenge myself by scanning some B2-sized Wedding Peach DX posters, 2 of which are now in the Posters section of the website. Although they don’t look like much they took quite a bit of effort to complete so I hope you will enjoy them.

Finally, I’ve added a new sheet of stickers to the 1995 Ciao Furoku page. These adhesives come from September of that year and feature a plethora of Ciao characters from the period. Super cute!

I’m working on scanning my Laserdiscs and a few other goodies as we get closer to the 30th anniversary of the Wedding Peach anime’s premeire. I hope you’ll enjoy this small update and come back again soon for more fun WP content.

You can now find the cover, track listing and both lossy/lossless files for the Ciao Special CD Book — Ruri-chan Housoukyou in the Music Archive. This 8cm CD was originally bundled with a 1996 issue of Ciao magazine and it contains a FURIL track that cannot be found anywhere else!

Audio updates take a lot of effort, so that’s the only thing I’ve managed to change this time around. Please enjoy this amazing piece of Wedding Peach history.

Starting 2025 off on a positive note, I thought I’d begin by adding some new Wedding Peach anime content in the lead up to the official 30th anniversary of the anime series airing (April 5th). These new additions include:

  • I’ve finally created a section covering the Japanese DVD releases for the series, including images and information for the individual and box set releases from the early 2000s (although viewable on mobile the table on this page looks best on a standard computer display).
  • 2 new scans in the Animedia magazine gallery, one from the March 1995 issue (an early preview of the then-upcoming anime) and one from the December 1996 issue (a look at Hikami Kyouko’s live and first album).
  • 4 new scans in the brand new VHS tapes gallery section! These scans are the full cover wraps from all four DX OVA retail VHS releases in lovely high resolution.
  • A new sidebar illustration of Wedding Peach in her anime fighter angel costume to celebrate the anime anniversary, drawn again by the lovely kasuya_ors!

In Wedding Apple news, the February 2025 issue of Seigura (Seiyuu Grand Prix) features a four-page piece on the series seiyuu, including a round table discussion and some gorgeous new photographs of the actresses embodying the style of their characters.

I highly recommend you purchase the issue yourself and enjoy the discussion between these talents as they speak about the characters and their impressions of them. Although it is not directly connected to Wedding Peach, it’s great to see the Wedding Apple project progress and garner actual coverage in an industry magazine!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy the new updates. There will be plenty more updates to come this year as I work on making this website a more comprehensive resource for Wedding Peach going forward.

2024 is almost at an end, which means we’re finishing up the Wedding Peach manga’s 30th anniversary year. To conclude this important year on a positive note, I’ve made the following updates to Weddingpeach.net:

  • The Manga Chapter Publication List has been revised to include not only the page count of each chapter, but pictures of the title pages for all 26 manga chapters.
  • I have added a copy of my Interview with Yazawa Nao to the history section. This interview was originally conducted over 20 years ago and I have revised it for typos/grammatical errors, though the actual content remains the same. Check it out if you’ve never seen it!
  • There is now an American DVD Releases section in the Anime Gallery. To launch this new gallery sub-section, I’ve added 12 new images scanned from the first and sixth Wedding Peach anime DVDs by ADV Films (including their reversible covers and bonus storage boxes).

Phew! It feels so good to give this site a decent update to round out the year. Have a safe and enjoyable new year and I’ll see you back here in 2025 for even more Wedding Peach content!
