Gallery – Gekkan OUT Magazine

Gekkan OUT was the first true anime-focused publication in Japan, beginning its run in 1977 and ending in 1995 (though it was partially spun-off into MEGU magazine). Gekkan OUT featured all manner of articles about current anime series and trends, mainly focused on information, interviews, fan work, and comics rather than on glossy anime-art spreads (it had a handful of colour magazine pages, but the majority of each issue was not glossy or colourful).

Because Gekkan OUT finished publication in the year that the Wedding Peach anime began, there’s not a lot of content from the series in its pages. However, what was released is still interesting to check out and I’m sure you’ll enjoy the pages as much as I did.

Gekkan OUT – April 1995

This issue of Gekkan OUT boasts a Sailor Moon S cover and a feature inside that takes up most of the magazine’s colour pages for the issue. The Wedding Peach anime was only just starting out at this time, so this issue features a colour page of Momoko’s character design and then later in the magazine, a two-page design spread of the three heroines in black and white.
