Gallery – VHS Tapes

Wedding Peach, like many popular anime titles of the 90s, was released on VHS tapes for home viewing. Consumers could purchase retail copies of the Wedding Peach anime on VHS, or borrow rental copies to watch and then return. The retail and rental releases of Wedding Peach featured different cover art and these days there are very few of either available for resale due to the decline of VHS as a preferred home video system.

I do, however, have a few copies of Japanese Wedding Peach video tapes in my collection which I’ll share in this section of the gallery as time allows. I just think they’re neat, what can I say?

Wedding Peach DX VHS (Retail Ver.)

Four Wedding Peach DX VHS tapes were released during 1996-1997, each containing one episode of the OVA series per tape. Like with the LD release of these volumes, the retail VHS tapes each include a bonus ‘newspaper’ style leaflet of novelty episode information. The retail LD and VHS cover art is by OVA character designer, Ichiishi Sayuri, and is the same across both formats.

Wedding Peach DX VHS (Rental Ver.)

Two Wedding Peach DX VHS tapes were released for rental usage during 1996-1997, each containing two episodes of the OVA series per tape. These tapes could be purchased by businesses to rent out to consumers who didn’t want to purchase the tapes themselves. These tapes do not include any bonus content (like the leaflets bundled with retail copies) but they do feature unique cover art by OVA character designer, Ichiishi Sayuri.

Unfortunately my copy of the second rental VHS has been damaged by a previous owner removing a rental sticker on the cover, please keep this in mind when viewing the scans. I do hope to get a better copy someday, but these tapes are quite difficult to come by so I haven’t had an opportunity to replace it yet.
